Spiritissima
Spiritissima grew from a desire to bring people together
and strengthen the connections between them —

Spiritissima is rooted in the understanding that our connection is not something we need to create — it has always been there.

Karin Ritter-Ostermann: Am Kanal
On Sunday, October 18, the exhibition “Am Kanal” by Karin Ritter-Ostermann opened at Art Gallery Spiritissima.
For over a decade, the versatile artist Karin Ritter-Ostermann has been photographing the tiny and often unexpected details hidden in the graffiti along Vienna’s Danube Canal.
She writes about this project:
For 10 years, I have mainly focused on macro photography of the graffiti along the Danube Canal in Vienna.
During what is usually the darker time of year, I was lucky enough to spend many wonderfully sunny winter hours there.
In a way, it all started when a man, completely drunk and heartbroken, damaged several cars, including mine. I was attending a training course downtown when my car was finally repaired.
It was November.
During my lunch break, I picked up my car and rode my bike back to the course. That was when I discovered the fantastic light in the bright sunshine, first reflected in the water alongside the graffiti.
I kept coming back, looking closer and closer. Being nearsighted and without my glasses, I discovered whole new worlds through my camera lens!
Doors open: 3:45 PM
Exhibition opening: 4:00 PM
